WORKERS PARTY OF MASSACHUSETTS AND GIANNONE CAMPAIGN FOR AUDITOR GATHER OVER 5000 SIGNATURES

Nick Giannone will be on the ballot as the statewide Workers Party candidate in Massachusetts

Workers Party of Massachusetts candidate for Auditor, Dominic “Nick” Giannone III, has gathered over 5000 signatures from registered voters and secured a spot on the ballot for the upcoming election on Tuesday, November 8.

Tuesday, August 2 at 5:00 PM is the deadline to submit nomination papers to local Registrars of Voters for the certification of signatures. “As of today at noon we have over 4700 certified signatures with nearly 1000 more still being processed.” Giannone said “Our campaign is confident that we’ll receive most of those back certified well before the deadline at the end of the month.” Registrars have until August 23 at 5:00 PM to complete certification of nomination papers and candidates have until August 30 at 5:00 PM to file nomination papers with the Secretary of the Commonwealth.

Giannone, a North Weymouth resident, is a member of Boilermakers Local 29 and has decades of experience as a revolutionary socialist fighter for working class causes. In 2020 he was the Workers Party candidate for State Representative in the 4th Norfolk District and received over 1200 votes in a 3 way race against a Republican businessman and anti-Black Lives Matter Democrat James Murphy. In 2013 Giannone ran for Weymouth Town Council as an open member of the Communist Party USA and came in 3rd out of 5 candidates.

The goal of the Giannone campaign and the Workers Party is to build an independent working class political party in Massachusetts. By running candidates on a revolutionary socialist program we hope to attract and organize class conscious workers and build an organization capable of fighting for our interests. In addition to our statewide Auditor campaign the Workers Party is running Laura Saylor as a State Senate candidate in the Bristol & Norfolk District and Brandon Griffin as a State Representative candidate in the 7th Plymouth District.

The Giannone for Auditor campaign and the Workers Party of Massachusetts send thanks to everyone who was involved in the collective effort to gather signatures. We are looking forward to using this electoral effort to build working class political power and plan to use the experience we’ve gained for even bigger campaigns in the future. Solidarity!
